Course Number and Name: TMU231H1 Music Theory IV
Course Description: Post-tonal theory and analysis. Study of compositional practices in music written after 1900.
Class Schedule: Section 1 – Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00-2:00pm in the Winter semester (January–April 2025), Section 2 – Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00-3:00pm in the Winter semester (January–April 2025)
Salary: $9,820.70 per section
Estimated Course Enrolment: 55 per section
TA support: Yes
Qualifications: Completed PhD in Music Theory. Mastery of the subject area related to the course description. Demonstrated excellence teaching music theory at the university level.
Duties: Define course objectives and materials; provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations; teach classes; supervise graduate teaching assistants, including designing weekly tutorial materials; \ administer and evaluate student assignments; prepare and submit final grade in accordance with policy. Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation each week.
