Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and mission-driven individual to provide administrative, event- planning, and ministerial assistance to the Director of Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry for the Western Vicariate of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.   In this role, the Assistant reports to the Director in collaborating with clergy, staff, volunteers, and leadership teams in parishes to foster the work of evangelization and the growth of vibrant, faith-filled communities rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church.  At least at the outset, this Assistant position will be part-time (16-20 weekly), some of which will include time on evenings or weekends.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

-Manage general correspondence and communication efforts for the Director
-Design and produce marketing materials: flyers, invitations, and promotional brochures, etc.
-Prepare printed materials for meetings and events: photocopies, programs, handouts, etc.
 

Event - Related Support:

-Organize logistical details for events: scheduling, securing venues, managing registration, hospitality, on-site setup and cleanup,  etc.
-Procure what is needed for events: supplies, materials, décor, refreshments, etc.
-Assist in presentation of content, facilitation, etc., as needed
 

Ministerial Support:

-Assist Director in serving and collaborating with clergy, staff, volunteers, and leadership teams in parishes
-Assist Director in planning and executing content for Vicariate evangelization initiatives: workshops, retreats, prayer services, days and evenings of recollection and reflection, formation events, etc.
-Assist Director in formation and development of parish evangelization and discipleship teams

Job Requirements

-Practicing Catholic who loves the Lord and the Church, who possesses a heart for service and a passion for evangelization and forming disciples
-Facility for creative thinking and adept at collaboration
-At least a Bachelor’s Degree with preferred emphasis in pastoral/religious studies or substantial experience in parish or diocesan ministry
-Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
-Effective communication skills (written and verbal) including public speaking,  group facilitation, etc.
-General proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular visual presentation and  graphic design software
-Work schedule flexibility
-Valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for use with mileage compensation
