The University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is driving the direction of how our field is practiced. As an internationally recognized program, University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is where patients and other clinicians turn for care of complex neurosurgical issues. The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurosurgeon  to join our dynamic and growing team. This faculty position is designed to support the strategic expansion of subspecialty services, improve patient access to advanced neurosurgical care, and contribute to the academic mission through teaching and mentorship.

The successful candidate will join an established functional neurosurgery Division within a comprehensive department that includes expertise in complex spine, endovascular, neuro-oncology, neurotrauma, and skull-base surgery.

The rank of appointment (Assistant/Associate) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions
-Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in functional and epilepsy neurosurgery, including preoperative evaluation, surgical intervention, and postoperative management.
-Participate in bedside education and clinical instruction of medical students and neurosurgery residents, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular and functional disorders.
-Teach specialty-related head and neck anatomy to students in neurosurgery and adjacent disciplines.
-Attend departmental and institutional meetings, contribute to governance, and assist in the preparation of educational materials.
-Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical research, quality improvement, and academic service.
-Provide service to the professional and lay community relevant to neurosurgery and academic medicine.
-Respond to University-related communications in a timely and professional manner.
-Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.

Minimum Requirements
-MD or DO from an accredited institution.
-Completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency program (7 years).
-Fellowship training in functional and/or epilepsy neurosurgery.
-Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio.

Additional Qualifications Considered
-Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic service. Experience with advanced neuromodulation techniques (e.g., DBS, RNS, epilepsy surgery).
-Interest in developing or expanding a clinical research portfolio.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
