Summary
The department is seeking to hire a Laboratory Assistant. The lab assistant will perform laboratory work in support of center for drug discovery, pathology & immunology activities under the supervision of faculty.
Job Duties
-Supports the work of technicians and scientists in a laboratory.
-Learns standard operating procedures.
-Learns how to use laboratory equipment and software appropriate for assigned tasks.
-Completes meaningful independent projects in assigned area of laboratory.
-Works under direct supervision and performs general duties as assigned by the supervisor.
-Performs all paperwork, technical, and non-technical procedures required to process.
-Supports the lab by performing data entry, loading instruments.
-Performs maintenance on all types of equipment, gathering supplies for testing.
-Performs a variety of administrative duties for your supervisor.
-Contributes to a cohesive team environment.
-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
-High School diploma or GED.
-Six months of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-STEM coursework and lab experience.
-Has strong interest and enthusiasm for scientific inquiry and biology specifically.
-Has familiarity with computational methods for data analysis.
-Has hands on experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
-Has proficiency in MS Office.
-Has excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to influence across all levels of the organization.
-Has excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Has fluency in English.
