Job Title: Drama Club Moderator
School: Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School
Location: St. Louis, MO (Archdiocese of St. Louis)
Reports To: Principal or Activities Director
Cardinal Ritter College Prep, a Catholic high school committed to academic excellence and rooted in faith and service, is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Drama Club Moderator. This individual will lead and mentor students in all aspects of dramatic arts, fostering self-expression, teamwork, and confidence through performance. The moderator will oversee the planning, rehearsal, and production of school performances, while promoting an inclusive and respectful environment that reflects the school’s Catholic values and mission.
Job Responsibilities
-Organize and facilitate regular Drama Club meetings and rehearsals.
-Direct one or more theatrical productions per academic year, including casting, scheduling, and production planning.
-Guide students in all aspects of performance, including acting, stage presence, and character development.
-Oversee technical aspects of productions (sets, costumes, lighting, sound) in collaboration with student volunteers and staff support.
-Foster a safe, inclusive space that encourages creativity, self-expression, and mutual respect.
-Coordinate with school administration regarding scheduling, facilities, budget, and communication.
-Promote student participation and engagement, while maintaining appropriate supervision and behavioral expectations.
-Encourage connections between the dramatic arts and Catholic values, supporting the spiritual and moral development of students.
-Represent the Drama Club at school-wide events and collaborate with other extracurricular programs when appropriate.
Job Requirements
-Experience in theatre arts, drama education, or directing student productions (required)
-Passion for working with high school students in a faith-based educational setting
-Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-Ability to inspire creativity and build confidence in young performers
-Availability for after-school meetings, rehearsals, and evening performances
-Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required
-Background check and Archdiocesan Safe Environment compliance required
