AGS
The Association of Geotechnical
and Geoenvironmental Specialists. The Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS) is a non-profit making trade association established to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.
The membership comprises UK organisations and individuals having a common interest in the business of site investigation, geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, engineering geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and other related disciplines.

Association of Residential
Letting Agents. The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) was formed in 1981 as the professional and regulatory body for letting agents in the UK. It was recognised that the requirements of the residential lettings market were so detailed and specific that a separate organisation was required to promote standards in this important and growing sector of the property market.

CIBSE
The Chartered Institution of Building
Services Engineers. The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers received its Royal Charter in 1976. CIBSE promotes the career of building services engineers by accrediting courses of study in further and higher education, by approving workbased training programmes and providing routes to full professional Registration and Membership, including Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer and Engineering Technician. Once you are qualified, CIBSE offers you a range of services, all focussed on maintaining and enhancing professional excellence throughout your career.

Construction Industry Council. The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is the representative forum for the professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations in the construction industry.
It provides a single voice for professionals in all sectors of the built environment through its collective membership of 350,000 individual professionals and 25,000 firms of construction consultants.

CIOB
Chartered Institute of Building. With over 42,000 members the CIOB is the international voice of the building professional, representing an unequalled body of knowledge concerning the management of the total building process.
CIOB members are skilled managers and professionals with a common commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards. Chartered Member status, represented by the designations MCIOB and FCIOB, is recognised internationally as the mark of a true professional in the construction industry.

CITB
Construction Skills. ConstructionSkills is the Sector Skills Council for construction. We represent every part of the construction industry, from architects to bricklayers, in every part of the UK. And we cover every part of the skills agenda - from grants to college places. We understand what the industry wants and needs; we tell that directly to government, and we have the power to get things done.

ECIA
Engineering Construction Industry Association.
The Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) is the principal trade and employer Association for the UK engineering construction industry. Our 300 members include many of the largest companies in the world that carry out engineering projects across the globe. Others are much smaller British contractors employing skilled craftspeople on sites all over the UK. Onshore, our members employ around fifty to sixty thousand personnel including plant designers, planners, project engineers and managers as well as site workpeople.

Federation of Master Builders. The FMB is a trade association established over 60 years ago to protect the interests of small and medium-sized building firms – today it is the largest trade association in the UK building industry.

ICES
Institution of Civil Engineering
Surveyors. The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) represents and encourages surveyors working within the civil engineering industry.
ICES supports the education and professional development of the specialist work that surveyors contribute to civil engineering projects. This varies from the monitoring and setting out of the works to the management of contracts and disputes. ICES members uphold the highest levels of competence and professional standards that are necessary to the success of these major construction projects. |

IMBM is the only professional body specialising in the practice of building maintenance management and in 1989 was appointed Industry Lead Body for Building Maintenance and Estates Service. |

Institute of Structural Engineers. The Institution of Structural Engineers is the world’s largest membership organisation dedicated to the art and science of structural engineering.
The Institution has over 23,000 members working in 105 countries around the world. The Institution is an internationally recognised source of expertise and information concerning all issues that involve structural engineering and public safety within the built environment.
